History of KWCP

In 2006 Bo Menkiti, Brandon Green, Carlos Garcia, Jason Martin, and Joel Nelson founded Keller Williams Capital Properties with a vision that a real estate brokerage could be a platform to help agent entrepreneurs grow their businesses and impact their communities. The founders chose to partner with Keller Williams Realty International because of its culture of service and distinctly different focus on education, technology, and wealth-building.

From the initial office on Capitol Hill in DC, the leadership attracted more like-minded entrepreneurs that embraced the KW systems, models, and tools, and the company grew dramatically. The unique Keller Williams model provided the opportunity that real estate agents were looking for, specifically to grow their own business and brand, and to make a difference in the lives of others.

After only a few short years, KWCP was recognized as a fastest-growing company, by Inc. 5000, the Initiative for Competitive Inner Cities, and Fortune Magazine. The company opened additional offices in Maryland and Virginia, and another location in Dupont Circle in the heart of DC and won a Keller Williams ‘Home Run Launch’ award for record profit performance during the launch phase with the Fairfax, VA, Bethesda, MD, and Rockville, MD locations. Today our 1,000 agents affiliate with one of our eight offices:

In 2017, our brokerage recorded record sales volume, topping $2.3 billion, with more than 4,775 transactions across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We shared more than $1.2 million in profit earnings with associates that helped to grow the company, and we donated more than $80,000 to local charities and non-profit organizations.

Our award-winning brokerage continues to expand as is the place where agents build and grow businesses. We are actively seeking new locations across the greater Washington, DC metropolitan region.
