The numbers are in and our KWCP agents have proven yet again that they are undeterred on their path toward continuous growth, both in industry metrics and the culture that has inspired agents and leaders to continue their journey with Keller Williams month after month.
Join us in congratulating our Top Performers in our Capitol Hill Market Center as they broke a new internal record of Over One-Billion Dollars SOLD in Volume Year-to-Date!
In such an unpredictable and chaotic market, we are excited to share that our KWCP agents in Capitol Hill increased their businesses by 62.6% Year-to-Date in comparison to last year!
Our team is growing and we are excited to introduce our latest addition to the KWLSS Family. Meet Dana Drew, a native Washingtonian and our latest compliance specialist. Dana’s passion for real estate was sparked by her love for architecture around the city. Fast forward to her 18+ year career in real estate through roles as a Leasing Consultant, Bookkeeper, Accredited Property Manager, Senior Property Manager, Notary Signing Agent and Realtor; Dana is ready to take your transactions to the next level!!
Dana is equally effective as a leader with the ability to motivate others while bridging the gap to ensure strong financial management performance. It isn’t every real estate professional who can seamlessly shift gears to help lead through the chaos of improving upon
the conditions of distressed multi-family properties while successfully tackling the audits of a property takeover, triannual inspections, lease ups, utility heavy ups to convert boiler consumption into electrical heat-pump usage while maintaining the presidents list to achieve an occupancy benchmarks of 98% and better while reducing property potentials by 3.5% as budgeted to secure the Presidents List.
Dana lives in Silver Spring, MD with her husband of 24 years, three children one of which is a sophomore in college, the other a senior in high school and one is going into the 2nd grade. She is very active in her community and has served as a volunteer for the PTA, Girls on the run and One Brick. In her personal time Dana Drew loves hiking MD trails with her Pitt bull terrier Princess, doing yoga, Pilates, going to comedy clubs, traveling and shopping.

Laugh and learn during “Clash of the Closers,” where some of KW’s best objection-handlers battle through several rounds of role-play for a place in the finals. The clash is live and unscripted, so anything can happen and the audience decides who advances each round.
Our team is growing and we are excited to introduce our latest addition to the KWLSS Family. Meet Allison Gyovai, originally from Winchester, VA. Allison graduated from Radford University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Design with a Minor in Marketing. She moved to NoVA last Summer and has been working in real estate ever since. Quite, the superstar, Allison closed over $10 million in production in her first 8 months!

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the city, and venturing out to try new restaurant spots.
There is a prevailing quest to live a balanced life, but ironically doing so tends to throw things out of whack. Why? Because balance is not possible, nor is it the most productive philosophy. People beat themselves up trying to obtain balance, but in the end, all they end up with is burnout.
The solution is counterbalancing.
Listen to our very own president of Keller Williams Capital Properties, Kymber Menkiti as she discusses how she’s mastered the act of counterbalancing to enhance her personal and professional life.
“I initially became part of the KWCP Family in 2012. I was invited to what was my very first look into the Company I have come to thoroughly be glad we found one another. To witness as well become part of something way bigger than I had been a part of since leaving my military network family whom I had built life-lasting bonds forever.
I was greeted with sincere and genuine care the moment I arrived at the Airport by whom I thought were complete strangers till the time we all returned from that amazing 15,000+ like-minded Orlando, Florida Family Reunion event has forever been ingrained in my heart, mind and soul.
For me it has always been about nurturing my mind. Being able to learn from so many best-of-the best with no agenda other than to see me succeed was mind-blowing. I had no idea something like this really existed and people want to see others succeed was only something I thought we read about in a magazine. When I was asked to join, there was absolutely no hesitation in my mind; I wanted to be part of something bigger than me; to be able to learn, grow and realize this was not just a dream; it was something obtainable and beyond; yes, please where do I sign up was all I could say! Aligning myself with the right people, implementing systems all while learning how to build a business of my own that could exceed anything I had ever been aware of since getting my Real Estate license back in 2002; yes please. Having role models to reach out who Inspire; Give of their talents freely and provide Guidance on a regular basis; I do not believe there is no better place to be than right here exactly where I am. I will close with this; finding my next Career path; learning how to build from there was and has been one of my greatest achievements. Being surrounded daily by positive energy will not only change one’s life it will have a profound positive impact going forward by simply being wonderfully blessed to know we can and shall build businesses worth owning for it is all starts with our mindset that must be nurtured
For the 12th year in a row, the Ron Kowalski Real Estate Group of KWCP Springfield hosted the Ron K Monopoly Tournament, this year raising about $7,000 for the Lorton Community Action Center, the beneficiary of the tournament for the last six years.
More than 300 players turned out, helping contribute to the 12-year total of donations raised for a variety of different charities to more than $70,000.
In describing this year’s tournament, Ron Kowalski said: “Interestingly, the final round, sponsored by CPMG Foundation (Capital Properties/ Menkiti Group), was different than any other we’ve ever had. It was an epic battle of patience and wits with no monopolies, no houses or hotels, no players going bankrupt, and no property trades among players.”
Ron stands out as a prime example of how the culture of a company is more than happy hour events and a few volunteer hours a year. He exemplifies the Keller Williams Capital Properties’ mission to transform lives, careers, and communities through real estate, and he’s very humble about it. Ron’s colleagues recently honored him with the Ethic of Service Award at the 2019 Annual meeting for exactly this type of effort and impact that he makes.

Hurricane Florence slammed into the North Carolina coast early on Friday, September 14, 2018, wreaking havoc on anything and anyone in its 400-mile-wide path. In the coastal and surrounding towns of Wilmington, New Bern, Morehead City, and Fayetteville, North Carolina, the storm slowed to a crawl and unleashed torrents of relentless rain and wind. Now the state is dealing with catastrophic inland flooding the likes of which most residents have never seen.
Days before the storm, Keller Williams’ leaders swung into action to ensure the safety of agents in partnership with KW Cares – a public charity that supports KW associates and their families.
“Our number one goal was to communicate the need to evacuate and take care of their personal safety. Our secondary goal was to assess property damage and personal needs,” said Ladd Gasparovic, operating principal for Keller Williams Wilmington.
Thanks to KW Cares’ disaster relief model, Gasparovic and others were able to quickly organize to help agents evacuate. Through social media, texts, and phone calls, they let every agent know that immediate funds were available through emergency grants from KW Cares to help them safely move away from the storm’s path.
“The speed with which KW Cares got money into the hands of our people who needed it was remarkable,” Gasparovic recalls.
Born in the Storm
Daniel Castro, a brand-new agent in Wilmington, received a grant from KW Cares just in time. His in-laws were visiting from Colombia, South America, for the imminent birth of his and his wife’s second child. At 39 weeks pregnant, a shelter wasn’t their best option, but it was one they would have to take if they couldn’t find an alternative.
When KW Cares learned about Daniel and his family, they wired money into his account and connected him with host homes in Bristol, Tennessee, where they could safely wait out the storm and have access to a hospital.
On Tuesday, September 18, the couple welcomed their daughter, Susanna Victoria Castro, into the world.
Castro is overwhelmed with the outpouring of care and concern. “Everyone here in Tennessee has been so good to us. They welcomed us with open arms and have checked on us to let us know they’re praying for us and looking out for us. KW Cares has made such a difference for us.”
Latwanna Singleton has a similar story. The grant she received from KW Cares helped her get to safety at a critical time. She had planned to hunker down at home so she’d be near the hospital when she went into labor. When the leadership in the market center inquired about whether she had a generator, she second-guessed her decision to stay. “After a short conversation with KW Cares, they had money in my account in less than two hours. We packed up the babies and got out.”
Just days after evacuating, Singleton delivered a healthy baby boy, Matthew Isaiah Jenkins.
Singleton says she is so proud to be a part of a company like Keller Williams, where everyone is treated like family. “I am ready to get back to work so that I can contribute to KW Cares and hopefully help someone in a similar situation at some point in the future.”
The Work Continues
To date, KW Cares has distributed 110 grants totaling $250,000 to those in need. Early last week, the organization set up a command center in New Bern to service the immediate needs of victims and over 100 volunteers have already assisted in clean up efforts.
“The biggest thing we can do right now is not just about the physical possessions or generators we bring, but when we can put our arms around someone else, tell them it’s going to be all right, and get them working again with a glimmer of hope,” says Tom Freireich, head of operations for the KW Disaster Relief Team.
As the rivers continue to rise, the worst of the flooding isn’t over yet. It may be weeks before power is restored and agents can return to their homes to evaluate the damage. Even so, Keller Williams will be there. When Mark Brenneman, regional director of the Carolinas, thinks of the support the region has received, he is overwhelmed with gratitude.
“The mantra of our company is ‘God, family, business,’ and sometimes we use words loosely. But in this case, I’ve got to experience and see over the last seven days what a true family Keller Williams Realty is. The support we’ve received is beyond comprehension. These next few days will be trying, but the amazing thing is that we will be here to support our family.”
